Hi, my name is

Matt.

Lead Software Engineer | Architecture, IT-Ops, and DevEx.

I build and operate internal developer platforms on Kubernetes. I specialize in containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and enabling teams to ship reliably at scale.

About Me

I’m a Lead Software Engineer specializing in architecture, IT operations, developer experience, and AI-driven development. Currently at Inspira Financial, I own the stability and evolution of our Kubernetes-based Internal Developer Platform supporting multiple application teams across Windows and Linux workloads.

I was an early adopter of AI-assisted engineering, and it paid off: by building AI into how our team designs, migrates, and operates software, a small team and I migrated our entire software portfolio to Kubernetes — an effort that would have taken a larger team twice as long. I thrive where architecture, operations, and developer experience meet: designing the platforms and workflows that help teams ship faster and more reliably.

I believe the same SWE principles that allow FAANG-scale companies to coordinate tens of thousands of engineers are what will allow individual developers to scale to thousands of agents.

Here are a few technologies I've been working with recently:
  • Kubernetes
  • Docker
  • Azure/AKS
  • Helm
  • CI/CD Pipelines
  • Claude Code
  • GitHub Copilot
  • Python
  • Java
  • C#/.NET

Experience

Senior Software Engineer - Inspira Financial
Jan 2025 - Present

Owned stability and evolution of an Internal Developer Platform on Kubernetes supporting multiple application teams and mixed Windows/Linux workloads.

  • Drove first successful production deployments of containerized services after multi-year modernization effort, transitioning platform from pre-prod validation to live customer traffic.
  • Defined rollout model using gated approvals and standardized Helm-based deployments to prevent prod drift and enable rapid onboarding of new services.
  • Implemented Datadog APM enabling service-level tracing in production; designed internal PKI using cert-manager and trust-manager.
  • Led live incident bridges and served as technical escalation point, prioritizing durable remediation over tactical fixes.
Software Engineer
Jan 2023 - Jan 2025

Key contributor and technical driver of enterprise application modernization and containerization initiative.

  • Led containerization of legacy enterprise portfolio: 110 applications packaged into 63 containers across Windows and Linux.
  • Built and maintained CI/CD pipelines for .NET, Java, and batch workloads; reduced build and deployment time by 100% through artifact reuse and pipeline optimization.
  • Acted as de facto technical lead for containerization effort despite mid-level title; senior engineers deferred to platform decisions.
  • Presented modernization roadmap to management and created reference architecture that served as the model for production deployments.
Software Engineer - School Data Solutions
May 2020 - Oct 2022

Full-stack developer building data platforms and web applications for K-12 education.

  • Designed and created 20 data autoloaders (ETL) used by 90 school districts and 2 million users.
  • Built tooling that increased analyst productivity by 3X; trained fellow developers on new workflows.
  • Overhauled UI/UX of 17 customer-facing web applications; mentored 3 junior engineers.
  • Sole contributor for company’s public website, implementing responsive designs and lead routing.
